We are in!
On the 7th and 8th July 2018, the Spinlock team will be swapping their sailing boots for hiking boots as they take on the Seafarers UK 24 Peak Challenge.
Set in the stunningly beautiful Lake District in the UK, the team will climb 24 peaks in 24 hours, encountering difficult terrain, lengthy descents and steep ascents along the way.
The Seafarers UK 24 Peaks Challenge is an exclusive event that invites teams to take on the toughest corporate challenge in the UK and will really test the team's endurance and strength. The route requires a high level of stamina to compete with limited recovery time. The course is 31 miles long and includes Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England.
The team of employees at Spinlock consists of Ash Holmes, Sarah Crabb, Yvonne Pike, Ben Lee, Charlie Carter and Myles Uren. The team of 6 will train and raise money for the Seafarers UK charity over the next 6 months in preparation for the start in July 2018.
Caroline Senior, Spinlock Operations Director continues:
"Chris and I are really proud that the team at Spinlock are taking part in this year's 24 Peaks Challenge in aid of Seafarers UK. It will be one of the most rewarding events the Spinlock team has taken part in requiring true Spinlock traits of determination, self-belief and team spirit.
There is no denying that this is going to be a tough challenge; from raising sponsorship, training, family and team support and the actual event itself. We are lucky at Spinlock to have a great team and everyone is behind the event team to support in all aspects. We all look forward to raising as much money and awareness as possible for this great cause".
Team Spinlock aim to raise £10,000 for Seafarers UK, a charity that has been helping people in the maritime community for 100 years, by providing vital support to seafarers in need and their families.
