Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix | Portsmouth on July 19-20

This weekend, SailGP’s high-speed racing returns to British waters with the much-anticipated Sail GP Portsmouth, taking place with 20,000 fans expected along Portsmouth’s historic waterfront. Home skipper Dylan Fletcher and Emirates Team GBR are ready to race for glory in front of their home crowd.

 

When Emirates Team GBR joined the SailGP circuit, they challenged Spinlock to develop their most sustainable lifejacket to date—one that could meet the intense safety and performance standards of SailGP, while also reducing environmental impact.

 

The result is the ‘SailGP Pro’. Rather than creating new fabrics, Spinlock repurposed surplus materials from previous production runs, cutting down on waste and eliminating the need for energy-intensive dyeing processes. The lifejackets also include removable and transferable sailor and sponsor branding, so the same jacket can be updated and reused as team members or partnerships evolve—reducing the demand for new gear in a sport known for constant change.

 

Whilst housing crew Air Supply, Communications and release systems, the SailGP Pro is designed to be light, flexible and comfortable, providing crews the ultimate PFD for agility and athleticism for flying these extreme boats around the race course.
