View All RopeSense optimised Scoot

Scoot is a slick Nelson Marek 55 launched by New England Boat Works, Rhode Island for a customer requiring a “simple, fast and fun” day sailer. Scoot is just that and will be seen buzzing around Nantucket all summer.

Scoot has just 2 winches, dual wheels and an array of push-buttons on deck, with hydraulics and all other controls neatly hidden below deck. For main and jib trimming, hydraulic systems use multiple purchases for slow or fast trim, with ZS1214 jammers to dead-end the sheets while push-button trimming.
Using the ZS-RopeSense, the final spec was checked and refined in an on-water testing session by Spinlock SPT and Scoot teams. This helped determine actual 1:1 mainsheet loads at both ends of the system, and confirm the best rope diameter and cover-core match to handle the high working loads.

The compact new RopeSense is simple to insert into an existing running line system and will display actual continuous and peak load data, outputting wirelessly to a PC if required.
